How long will the battery last? What does it feel like to drive? Where will I charge it?
We all have so many questions about driving - and more significantly charging and maintaining - an electric vehicle (EV). Whilst we are starting to see more EVs on our roads, they remain a relatively new and inaccessible concept for most people. Especially for people whose income is dependant on the reliable running of a vehicle, whether that’s a car, van or taxi.
At Electric Blue, we appreciate these concerns and questions. We should know - we’ve been driving some of the earliest models since before our inception in 2015 and making our way around the, thankfully now increasing, range of chargers on the market. Among our team, we continue to drive a variety of EVs and we are keen to share with you the answers and information that we’ve arrived at - and will continue to develop - along the electric revolution journey.
How it works
Driving an EV is an unknown for many people. Taxi drivers are often unaware of the feasibility for business use and the benefits they can bring. Electric Blue seeks to raise awareness of and build engagement in, the transition to a fully electric taxi fleet.
The EVent(s) will run in partnership with you, the local authority, the format can vary but we suggest:
- A morning session for taxi and commercial drivers; an informal event where drivers are presented with EVolve findings (where applicable) the opportunity for a test drive, and a short feedback session on the future of electric vehicles and taxis.
- The afternoon event is tailored for the local authority - including dealers who may supply EVs - such as Nissan or Renault for test drives during the EVent
- An evening event will engage the local community in supporting the introduction of electric taxis and delivery vehicles: by raising awareness, dispelling myths and concerns and securing commitments to use the e-Vehicles.
We will be responsible for the planning and delivery of each event, however in order to ensure the maximum value for the event we ask that the local authority liaise with their taxi drivers and fleets as well as internal staff. Please contact Electric Blue for any assistance in contacting drivers and fleets. We can provide flyers to circulate prior to any event.
