Cambridge is storming ahead in their mission to achieve clean air in the city centre, with electric vehicle (EV) uptake clearly on the rise! We’ve got the latest figures for December from our Electric Blue chargers, and are delighted to see the continual growing usage of the network across the city.
In December 2018 alone, Electric Blue delivered more energy across all of our chargers, than for the whole of 2017! In fact, December 2018 is our second best month ever for renewable energy delivered to EVs, after November 2018. And let’s not forget, all Electric Blue chargers are powered by 100% renewable energy - meaning you can charge with a clean, green conscience.
Competition between chargers is also heating up! The charger in Adam & Eve car park is currently top of the leaderboard for energy delivered, but Arbury Court car park (operational only since October) is rapidly catching up.
Here are the key numbers from Cambridge chargers in December:
- 15,571 emissions free miles
- 3.75 tonnes of CO2 saved from Cambridge’s air
With these figures we can see the direct impact that the installation of EV chargers is having on the local air quality. So how about we increase that impact, together, and expand the Cambridge charger network? With your support, Electric Blue will grow the network to a planned total of 21 chargers, meaning more emissions free miles supplied, and even greater amounts of CO2 removed from the city air.

As of 30th June 2019 our Ethex bond offer is closed. Thank you for all of the support from local community and investors who raised over £480,000 for the Cambridge charger network. We will be publishing a full report on our project work in Cambridge, including the community investment offer and the development of the charger network, so stay tuned for updates to come in the not-too-distant future.
